Blanc de Chine Man Smoking Figurine

This is a figure of a Asian gentleman made by Nymphenburg in 1959. Nymphenburg made a whole series of these and they are really nice and one does not see them often at all. This one here is a gentleman smoking a very long pipe while dressed in a nice outfit and standing on a nicely done base with some sort of post with a railing to his side. Off course based on an 18th century Frankenthal model hence the CT mark as well as their mark. This is the white version which I always like because it shows of the detailing of the porcelain but I do also ahve the painted version listed on the site. The figure is 5.755 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. Marked with the impressed shield mark by his foot as well as underneath, the numbers 1175a over 6 and the CT monogram under the crown as well as the year mark for 1959.
