New Hall Duvivier Creamer

This is a rare milk jug / creamer made by New Hall around 1788. What makes the piece special is that it was painted by Fidelle Duvivier I was told and the style does fit that claim. The piece has a pear shape to it with a sparrow beak spout to it and would normally have a cover / lid but that is lacking. It is hand painted with a cherub scene in polychrome to both sides with some gilt sprigs scattered throughout and a nice gold and blue design to the rop edge. Not the most exciting example in terms of painting but very rare and highliy thought after being painted by him. Few examples come up for sale. The piece is in great condition with the lid missing as mentioned, a bit of wear to the gilding mainly on the top edge and a small chip to the foot ring as shown. It is a rare marked example having the red script N mark on the underside. The creamer is just over 3.5 inches tall, 4.375 inches from spout to handle and about 3 inches wide. A monochrome example with its lid sold for over 10K at Bonhams! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $2499
