Pair of Early Eye Glasses

This is a fun set of folding eye glasses / spectacles with its original case. These go by the term Pince Nez for Nose pinchers since they are only held in place by pinching your nose a bit. Not the most comfortable way to wear glasses but definitely neat. Most popular around the turn of the century (late 19th to early 20th century). This set is gold tone - there are no marksing but since it has not oxidized over the 100 plus years I assume they are at least gold filled. No way to know as I do not have a test kit or anything like that. It does not come with a chain but has the attachment for it to one side. Not sure what strength these are but they are way too strong for me and I come in around 1.5. They measure about 3.5 inches wide with the nose pieces touching and 1.75 inches tall. Each circular lens is 1.5 inches in diameter. The set looks to be in good condition - I don't see any issue but I don't know much about this sort of thing at all so ask me questions if I missed something. The case is not in good shape as per pictures but it's neat to still have it. It is marked with a name and their locations in Paris, London and New York but I cannot make out the name. Just a fun set you can display in your library or any other place in the house. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
