Nathusius Tray

This is a superb serving dish made by Nathusius / Althaldensleben in about 1830. Althaldensleben was started by Gottlob Nathusius in about 1814 as an earthenware factory but soon (about 1826) converted to porcelain making. After his death in 1836 the factory was closed. It is rare to find pieces by this maker as they only made porcelain for a few years. The dish has a nice fruit scene in the center and a raised design to the sides which is highlighted with lots of gilding. A handle on each side and two small flowers on the rim as well. The tray is marked with the underglaze blue N with a line above it underneath. It is 2.25 inches tall, 13.5 inches long and 8 inches wide. The dish is in perfect condition with just a tiny bit of wear. Please email me for more information or photos.
