Naples Softpaste Plate

This is a rare plate made of softpaste by the Naples (Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea) factory around 1775. It is nicely handpainted with three larger flower arrangements as well as four small flowers. The rim has a nice shape as well and has a trim line in puce which makes it look very elegant. The plate is marked underneath with the FRF mark in underglaze blue. The plate is 1 inch tall and 9.375 inches in diameter. The plate is in great conditon for its age and it being softpaste. There are no chips or hairlines but there is a bit of wear which is normal one these pieces. The one rose on the largest arrangement is the worst of it but even that is not bad. There are a lot of knife marks to the clear glaze which is much easier on softpaste than on hardpaste and is thus common. Underneath there are a bunch of firing issues like areas where the glaze didn't take or rough areas. All these are from the making and don't take away from the piece at all. This is a superb piece to display! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
