Ferdinandea Naples Nardone Plate

This is an interesting plate made in Naples in the early 19th century around 1830. Likely a Paris blank that was decorated in Naples by the likes of Raffaele Giovine or someone like that. The piece is superbly painted with a superb scene in the center including a bit of a landscape and some buildings with a prominet central figurine dressed in some fancy clothes of the period or maybe even a bit earlier. The person seems to be F. Nardone - a member of the prominant Naples Nardone family . The surname Nardone was first found in the Kingdom of Naples , formerly Napoli or Neapolis, in southern Italy. Not sure who the actual person is but there are quite a few noble members with this name. Either way a fun and unusual plate. The rim has a nice gold leaf and yellow design trim with a blue and gold line around the edge. The plate is in superb condition with some very minor wear. It is not makred except for the name in black as mentioned. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. A must have for a family member or a collector of Italian porcelain :) Please email me for more information or other pictures.
