Naples Softpaste Figurine

This is a very rare figurine made by Naples ( Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea ) around 1775. It is of a lady wearing a nice skirt, a scarf over her sholder and a hat on her head. She is made of softpaste porcelain and has the typical hair for this period and maker. Really well modeled and handpainted and one can see the Capodimonte influence in the painting and colors. Quite heavy for her size since softpaste is very thickly potted as it would otherwise not hold up during the firing process. The figurine is in great condition with some small firing spots on her arms and face, a tiny meanigless chip to the edge of her scarf by her left elbow and five small chips to the bottom edge of her skirt which are not obvious at all due to the folds and white color. A small chip to the very tip of her left foot. So she displays perfectly especially for such an old and rare piece. She is unmarked which seems to be the norm from the few pieces I have been able to find. The figurine is about 5.5 inches tall, 2 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep.
