Doccia Capodimonte Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Doccia / Ginori in the late 18th or early 19th century. The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are hand painted very nicely. Often called Capodimonte style. Nice corral handle to one side. The saucer is decorated with a scene all around the rim with four single flowers to the center and a simple gold trim to the edge. A much less common design for the saucer. The set is in perfect condition. The cup is marked with the rare incised crown over N mark underneath while the saucer is unmarked which is fairly common. This is the original maker of this style that was so often copied later in Dresden, etc. and those examples one sees much more often! The cup is 2.375 inches tall and about 3.375 inches in diameter and the saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. So a nice sized set!
