Pigeon Plate

This is a plate made by Coalport around 1855. I thought it was Minton until I finally saw an identical plate with the rare CSN mark (Coalport Swansea Nantgarw) in puce. So I was wrong. Right on the time period but a bit off on the maker. it happens :) The plate is handpainted with a scene of pigeons in a landscape background. The rim is superb consisting of a turquoise background with white and gold jewels and a gold leaf design to the edge. Doesn't come much better than this. The plate is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear. Marked underneath with impressed marks I can't make out as well as a pattern number in gold of 6 over 870. The plate is 9.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
