Walter Bosse Deer Figurine

This is a cute porcelain figurine made by Metzler & Ortloff in the late 1920's. Metzler & Ortloff was founded originally around 1873 and finally closed its doors in 1976. This figurine was designed during their best period by the famous Walter Bosse who worked for them from 1926 until 1930. He made about 200 different figures though most are dogs or such things and very few are larger pieces. The piece here I have never seen. It is of a little horse standing on a rectangular base with a flower with its leaves next to it. Normally I would say it is part of their place card holder serie but there is no space between the flower and the deer. Either it is not part of this series or the flower moved during the firing process and stuck to the deer. Either is an option. The deer is super cute with the little black and yellow circle design to it. Meant to be a fawn I suppose. The figure is modeled and hand painted in the typical fashion for this maker and designer. I have never come across this piece before nor can I find it in my searches but have had the cow, elephant and donkey before. Really a fun little piece! The figurine is in perfect condition which always helps and is marked underneath with the green MO mork under a crown in a circle as well as an impressed number 5546 (I think) as shown. The figurine is about 2.375 inches tall, 1.125 inches wide and 1.75 inches long. Please email me for more information or photos.
