Yellow Ground Floral Cup& Saucer

This is a rare cup and saucer made by Meissen around 1750 - likely for hot chocolate . They are painted with some superb flowers surrounded entirely by a nice deep yellow ground color and even the underside of the saucer has that yellow ground. Nice gold trim to the edges and and nice rim and handle shape! Both the cup and saucer also have an interesting indented shape to them which is unusual. The set is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear and the cup and saucer each have one tiny painted in chip that does not take away from the piece at all! A real treat by the best maker around :) The saucer is about 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.75 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark and some of the usual other marks one finds on early pieces. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
