1740 Woodcut Rose Saucer

This is a nice early saucer made by Meissen in about 1740. It is hand painted with flowers in the woodcut style before the Deutsche Blumen style took hold. A large floral arrangement with the main flower being a nice rose and four smaller single flowers and a nice brown trim to the rim. The saucer is in great condition with a tiny firing flaw painted over with a tiny thin leaf but no real damage. The saucer is 1.125 inch tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as an impressed number 2 and a puce painters mark along the foot ring though that is quite small and hard to make out - looks like S x.
