Nice Woodcut Flower Cup & Saucer

This is an early cup and saucer made by Meissen in about 1750. Both are handpainted with flowers in the woodcut style that is already influenced by the coming Deutsche Blumen style so they were done during the transition period of about 1745-50. The saucer has a large floral arrangement on one side andfour small ones next to it with the cup having a large floral arrangement to one side with four small flowers on the other side and another on the inside bottom with two blossoms coevering firing flaws. The handle also has a nice flower along it which is a nice touch! Both pieces also have a gold trim to the rim. The set is in great condition with some very very minor wear. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. They are both marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark and a puce painter's mark S. There is an impresssed single digit number under each piece.
