Cherub Wig Maker Figurine

This is a great little figurine made by Meissen in about 1760. From the Amor / Cupid in disguise series - a cherub wig maker with the head form and the wig on it on a stand in front of him. There are about 80 of these figures made by Kaendler / Acier all of cupids in different occupations. This one here is pretty ahrd to find and really quite nice. A little later than the 1750 pieces but still early and quite nice. He is wearing a purple coat with a yellow cloth covering his mid section while standing on a typical base with gold scrolls and two applied flowers. His hair is tied together with a big black bow in the back. A really nice figurine that is in great condition with just a well done restoration to his right hand, a minor touch up to the corner of his coat and a minor chip to a leaf on the base. It displays perfectly! The bottom of the base is flat with an impresssed number 28 and a gold G and the back of the base is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark to it as shown. The figure is 3.375 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
