Watteau Scene Quatrefoil Saucer

This is a really nice saucer made by Meissen in the 19th century . It has four lobes in a style called quatrefoil and is hand painted with a Watteau style scene in the center in polychrome on white ground. That scene is surrounded by some fancy gold trim with the rest of the piece having a deep cobalt blue ground color and some more fancy gold trim to the rim as well as to the outside rim. As fancy as they get from this period! That blue and gold combination has to be among the very best in the porcelain world and having a scene on the saucer is much less common than flowers. The piece looks amazing. The saucer is in perfect condition which is always nice and is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed number as shown. The piece is 1.375 inches tall, 5.25 inches wide and just over 4.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
