Vulcan as Blacksmith Figurine

This is a figure of Vulcan as a blacksmith made by Meissen in about 1745. The figure is of a bearded mostly nude Vulcan forging an arrow head on his anvil using tongs and a hammer. All he is wearing is an apron to cover his sensitive area. A very well modeled figurine that is in great condition with a little wear to his hair, a chip to his nise, wear to the black paint (htough better than all the others I have seen), a small rough spot to a corner of the anvil and a repair to the handle of the hammer. He displays superbly and is truly a fun figurine! The bottom of the base is flat and filled with only the air hole in it typical for Meissen. He is marked with the blue crossed swords mark on the back of the base as shown. The figure is 4.625 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 1.625 inches deep.
