Sugar Shaker #2

This is a fun sugar shaker / caster / muffineer made by Meissen in about 1765 during the dot period. It is rather large with a two large nice hand painted floral arrangements as well as some smaller single flowers and a little floral garland to either side along the mold line. A bit of nice trim to the very top and where the shaker part and the main body meet. An amazing reticulated top for the sugar to pour out of and amazingly the word sugar twice on the foot with flowers in between. So obviously a very early export piece! Not something one sees often from Meissen especially since there rarely is writing on porcelain :) This piece does have a very decorative shape. It is in amazing condition with some minor crack to the top in one area that appear from the making. The cork that is being used is obviously a newer replacement which is to be expected. The piece is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords with the dot between the bottom. It is just under 6.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1249
