1740's Rock & Bird Teapot

This is a rare early miniature teapot with its proper lid made by Meissen in about 1740. The pot is handpainted in underglaze blue with the Fels und Vogel (Rock and bird) pattern that is quite nice. Marked with the straight blue crossed swords to the bottom with a W underneath as a blue painters mark. It is in great condition with a some shallow chipping to the left side of the spout (when looking at the tip straight on) and one chip to the footring that is glazed over and thus original to the making. None of this takes away from the piece at all when on display or any other time. The pot is 3.625 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 6.5 inches long.
