Lady Carrying Pitchers Figurine

This is a great figurine of a peasant girl from the Russian street trader series made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century. The series is sometimes called the Cris de St. Petersburg - the Russian version of the Cris de Paris from France. First modeled by Peter Reinicke in the 18th century the figurine is of a lady golding a jug in each hand while wearing a long coat, a head scarf and standing on a white base with some flowers on it. A really well modeled and hand painted figurine. The figure is in great condition with a leaf on the base being chipped and each jug has had the opening restored. Probably small chips but impossible to tell. She displays perfectly! The figure is 5 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide and 1.875 inches deep and marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as the usual impressed numbers of the period and a 9. as a painter's mark.
