Puce Woodcut Flower Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Meissen in about 1750 or a bit earlier. They are handpainted with puce flowers in the woodcut style before the Deutsche Blumen style took hold. These flowers are much more natural looking and much more detailed than later ones. The cup and saucer both are handpainted with one large flower arrangement each as well as two smaller flowers in the other areas. Both pieces are in superb condition with a tiny bit of wear on the saucer. The cup is 1.75 inch tall and 3 inches in diameter and has the number 10 impressed. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.75 inches in diameter and has the number 52 impressed. Both are marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath. Price is $599
