Amazing Kakiemon Single Cup

This is one of the nicest Kakiemon style cups I have seen. It was made by made by Meissen in about 1730. The octagonal shaped cup is hand painted with two Kakiemon style floral scenes on white ground - one with a bird in it. Each is surrounded with a purple trim. The rest of the outside has a superb yellow ground color to it with more Kakiemon flowers, a brown trim to the dge, another flower to the bottom inside and a bit of color to the unusually shaped early handle. Kakiemon colors of this period are some of my favorites and this is one superb design! I wish I had the saucer but I don't :( The cup is in great condition with some wear to the brown trim, a black firing spot near the edge over the handle and an unglazed spot on the handle from when it was made. The piece is marked underneath with the nice early under glaze crossed swords mark as shown as well as two parralel lines to the paste as a Dreher's mark for Grutner junior. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
