Amazing Pre 1740 Floral & Bugs Plate

This is a superb early plate made by Meissen in about 1735. The piece has an amazing large double flower and buttefly center design to it with three more smaller flower around the well edge and lots of bugs scattered all around and even one on the underside as shown. The flowers and bugs are in the woodcut style of the early period but the best part of all the decoration is that if you look closely the bugs all have little shadows to them. As if they were not special enough on their own the shadows under them are amazing! This style of painting is often attributed to Klinger as a painter which is probably more of a myth since as far as I know only one signed piece is known by him and it was not shaded. Either way the bugs and flowers are of a the best quality and the shade makes them seem lifelike on the white background. Nice wavy edge design makes the piece even more elegant! The plate is in superb condition for its age with the gold trim on the edge being worn and some minor wear to the rest mainly from stacking which is normal and can be seen in my pictures. Nothing that takes away from this fun piece! The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath - a nice early version and it does not yet have an impressed number so it's definitely from before 1740.
