Painted Hedgehog Figurine

This is a really cute figure of a hedgehog made by Nymphenburg right around 1950. It is not a figurine one sees often - especially the painted version so it was a must have :) He is superbly modeled with tons of detail and painted in mostly grey tones except for his eyes. Modeled by the famous Luise Terletzky-Scherf that modeled so many animals for them that we all love. Really a special bunch! The little guy is 2.25 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches long. Marked with the green shield mark with Nymphenburg underneath. Western Germany in green and impressed numbers 2068 over 11 (I think) as well as the impressed shield mark. There is a monogram of the artist LTS by his right front foot highlighted in black which is intersting. The base also has Ex. 766 on it so I wonder if this was an artist model for the factory? Never seen that before. He is in perfect condition. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $599
