Hentschel Child Figurine

This is a superb figurine of a so called Hentschel Child made by Meissen in the early 20th century during the original period these were first made in. Julius Konrad Hentschel ranks among the most important artists of Meissen during the Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period. His Hentschel children are still highly sought after today. These were modeled to depict children in everyday life usually playing with a toy or animal. These figures are so lively and full of character. Definitely among the best figurines they ever made. Here we have a young girl in a simple dress playing with a pull toy - an animal on a platform with four wheels. I think it is a dog but could also be a sheep. This here is a rather rare model and not one they produce nowadays. The figure is in superb condition without any chips, restorations, etc. Just a stray tiny paint spot on her dress near the front right wheel. The figure is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the pommels at the end for the period of around 1900 as well as the usual impressed and painter's marks as shown. The girl is 4.25 inches tall, just under 3 inches wide and 3.625 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
