Tischchenmuster Cup & Saucer

This is a nice cup and saucer made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. Both pieces are hand painted with a really nice polychrome version of the famous Tischchenmuster (little table design) in iron red, puce, blue, green, yellow and gold. The table is in under glaze blue with Imari type flowers all around and a nice design to the rim. The set is in great condition with just two tiny flat chips on the outside edge of the saucer as shown. The saucer is marked with an early version of the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown dating to around 1739 while the cup has the dot mark as shown. So they are probably a marriage though a perfect one except for the marks. Both are marked underneath with the Meissen under glaze blue crossed swords marks. The cup has an impressed number 15 while the saucer has an impressed letter P. The saucer has an under glaze blue the letter E. on the footring while the cup has a script G. and three dots forming a triangle in red. and an impressed letter P (not a 6). The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. The cup is just a touch over 1.75 inches tall with a diameter of just over 3 inches.
