1750's Pitcher

This is a porcelain pitcher made by Meissen around 1740-50. It is handpainted with a large flower arrangment on both sides, a large yellow flower on the front and some smaller flowers throughout. The flowers are still highly influenced by the woodcut flowers of the early Meissen period but are already exhibiting strong signs of the Deutsche Blumen as well so probably from the late 40's or early 50's. There is a neat bust of a nude lady on the top of the handle and some gold trim as well. Nice relief design to the paste itself. This pitcher is in great condition with a small chip to the foot which isn't very obvious, a crack through the bottom of the handle (not the top!) and a purple smudge to the inside spout rim. The pitcher is 8 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords that are straight. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
