Gotzkowski Floral Plate

This is a great porcelain plate made by Meissen around 1745. This is the same style also used for the St. Andrews Service and the Tsarina Elizabeth I of Russia Service. The plate is decorated with the Gotzkowski erhabene Blumen (raised flowers) design in the paste, a nice floral arrangement in the center and four more along the rim. The flowers are already in the Deutsche Blumens tyle but still show the influence of the Woodcut flowers so they are very early on. Three scattered tiny flowers likely to cover firing spots and a nice brown trim to the edge. The plate is in great condition with a tiny bit of wear and three chips along the foot ring which don't take away from the piece at all. The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords as well as an impressed number 22. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $699
