Fruit & Bugs Cup & Saucer

This is a superb early cup and saucer set made by Meissen in about 1745. Both pieces are hand painted with some superb fruit as well as bugs and a large butterfly on each. The saucer has I think an apple that has been partially peeled with the peel hanging on with its stem and two leaves, three smaller bugs and that beautiful butterfly to it while the cup has what look to be two peaches on their branch with some leaves on it as well as two bugs and another awesome butterfly. My favorite part is that superb mushroom pair on the bottom inside of the cup! Gold trim to the edge and a basket weave relief design to the rims. Nice handle shape on the cup with some gold highlights! A really superb set! The quality and detail is top! The cup and saucer are in superb condition with a couple of minor cratches to the leaves of the apple. They display perfecly. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark underneath as well as an impressed 2 on the saucer and 52 on the cup. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
