Deutsche Blumen Cup & Saucer

This is a nice early cup and saucer made by Meissen in about 1745. Both pieces are hand painted with a superb floral arrangement as well as single flowers in the early Deutsche Blumen stylke still influences by the woodcut style before them. These flowers are quite nice! The inside of the cup has a little floral arrangement to it as well. Both pieces have a brown trim to the edges quite common to their early wares and there is a tiny flower to the handle. The set is in great condition with just a little wear - mostly to the top rim of the cup and one single flower of the saucer. A small brown smudge to the inside of the cup as shown from when it was made. The saucer is about 1 inch tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is just over 1.75 inch tall and 3.125 inches in diameter. Both pieces are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark that are straight as well as a puce letter S and some impressed numbers as shown.
