Marcolini Period Tea Caddy

This is a nice tea caddy / jar made by Meissen during the Marcolini period of the late 18th into the early 19th century. Judging by the quality of the flowers it's still an 18th century example. Both the front and the back are hand painted with a floral arrangement including a large nice looking tulip with some small blue and yellow forgetmenots. Each side has a small flower to it as do the shoulders of the piece. The lid has a small floral arrangement to it matching the larger ones and a nice floral finial with brown trim to the bottom edge. The piece is in great condition with a small chip to the edge of the lid as shown with a tiny hairline in the chipped spot. A little paint would hide the chip perfectly and it displays nicely as is. The tea jar is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the star under it as well as a painter's number 94 (I think) as shown. The piece with the lid in place is 4.75 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
