Marcolini Period Tischchenmuster Cup & Saucer

This is a nice coffee cup and saucer made by Meissen in the later 18th century during the Marcolini period. Both pieces are hand painted with a really nice polychrome version of the famous Tischchenmuster (little table design) in iron red, puce, blue, green, yellow and gold. The table is in under glaze blue with Imari type flowers all around going into the rim. On the cup the design is going all around the the handle which is nice. Typical angular handle shape typical for this period and one of my favorites! Gold trim to the edges and the handle. This shape cup is not very common with the flat glazed bottom. The set is in great condition with just a minor touch of wear to the saucer where the cup sits and some wear to the bottom of the cup which is to be expected given it is flat and glazed. They display perfectly! Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark with the star below as shown. Both ahve a blue line - right below the mark on the cup and on the foot ring of the saucer. Impressed numbers to both which is typical for Meissen. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.5 inches tall with a diameter 2.5 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
