Woodcut Flower Saucer

This is an early saucer made by Meissen in about 1740. It is handpainted with flowers in the woodcut style before the Deutsche Blumen style took hold. A large flower in the center and some smaller ones scattered throughout. There is also a the nice brown trim to the rim. The saucer is in great condition with a tiny underside rim glaze chip and a glazed over manufacturing firing line that is very short and more easily seen from the underside. The saucer is 1.125 inch tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. It is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark that are straight from around 1740. I have the perfect cup to match this piece if you would like a cup and saucer! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
