Greeting Harlequin Figurine

This is a superb harlequin figure made by Meissen in the mid 20th century. These commedia dell'arte figures are always a joy to look at. Just makes you happy on a lousy day :) I do believe he was first designed by Kaendler around 1740. The harlequin here is called the greeting harlequin and is hand painted with a colorful lozenge patterned design to his clothes, holding a hat in front of him with both hands while bowing to greet someone. He is standing on a nice base with a tree trunk behind him and some flowers below him. All in all an amazing piece that just speaks to you! The figurine is in perfect condition which always helps. It is 6.25 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide and 5 inches llong. The figure is marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath the base as well as the usual impressed numbers of the period - 632 and a gilt 777 probably the painter's or gilder's number.
