Tea Caddy w/ Silver Lid

This is a fun tea jar / caddy made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. It is hand painted with a puce scene surrounded by colorful rocaille decorations including swags, leaves and flowers on both the front and the back with two fun designs to the top and either side and gold trim to the edges. A really nice design that is very cheery to look at and a bit different than the usual motives. The teacaddy is in good condition with some wear to the gold trim and a small chip to the bottom right hand corner on one of the sides as shown. The lid was lsot or broken some time ago and replaced with a stunning silver one - probably the nicest silver replacement I have ever seen. The lid is marked with the typical silver hallmarks though I am clueless in this department and have no idea where or when it was made. I assume it is British but that is just a guess. The caddy with the lid is about 5.75 inches tall, 2.875 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep. It is faintly marked with the crossed swords in blue on the unglazed underside - typical of this period of around 1750. A stunning piece! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
