Woodcut Gotzkowski Plate w/ Butterfly

This is a superb porcelain plate made by Meissen around 1740. This is the same style used for the St. Andrews Service and the Tsarina Elizabeth I of Russia Service. The plate is decorated with the Gotzkowski erhabene Blumen (raised flowers) design in the paste around the well of the plate as well as to four sections of the rim with nice Woodcut style flowers in the center and in three areas along the rim but my favorite part is the butterfly that fills in the fourth spot. Typical brown trim to the edge. The flowers and butterfly are top noch! The plate is in excellent condition with some scratches to just the central floral arrangement as shown. Displays perfectly and is just stunning! The plate is 1.375 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the underglaze blue crossed swords as well as an impressed number 16. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
