Full Basketweave Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a really superb quatrefoil cup and saucer set made by Meissen in about 1740-1745 with the porcelain maybe a touch earlier. The shape is superb and the decoration is top notch as well. Both pieces are entirely covered with a basket weave design to the paste which is something you rarely see. Each piece has two really nice hand painted scenes to them including couples or families in a landscape surrounding with a touch of black trim under the painted parts only. An odd thing but a regular pattern by them. Not sure why they only painted the black trim under the scenes. Each piece has a larger floral arrangement or three in the case of the saucer as well as some single flowers and some gold trim to the edge and the handle. A gorgeous looking set and not a design you see often at all. Nice handle shape as well! The cup and saucer are in superb condition with some wear to the gold trim and to the central flower arrangement of the saucer. The cup is just a bit under 2 inches tall, 3.375 inches from front to back without the handle and 3.125 inches wide. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall, 5.625 inches wide and 5.125 inches deep. Both pieces are marked with the underglaze blue crossed swords mark underneath. A bit hard to date as the porcelain does not have any impressed numbers yet which means it is pre 1740 but the flowers are Deutsche Blumen already which is after 1740. So I am saying it's around 1740-45. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
