Fox eating Bird Scene Box

This is a really nice lidded trinket box made by Meissen in the 20th century. One does not see animal scenes on these boxes very often so when I found it I was thrilled. The top of the lid has a superb hand painted scene to the top including a red fox with a grouse in a nice landscape surrounding. A gold trim to the edge. The main body has a bug / butterfly to the side as well as an oak branch including some acorns and leaves and a blueberry bush branch including some berries and elaves. Gold trim to the bottom and top edges. A really nice piece! The box is in perfect condition! It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue swords mark (first choice) as shown as well as the usual impressed and artist marks. The bottom and lid together are 2 inches tall and 3.625 inches in diameter. Could be used for any number of things including trinkets , jewelry , candy or whatever else you can come up with. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
