Bird Scene & Puce Scale Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup & saucer made by Meissen in about 1745. Both pieces are hand painted with a large birds scene, on in the center of the saucer and one to both sides of the cup as well as two little bugs to the saucer above the birds and some small flowers but my favorite part is the superb puce scale type trim to the rim with some gilding and a nice scroll work surrounding the scenes. Gold trim to the edge and a nice flower arrangement on the bottom inside of the cup. One of the best trims they had and with the quality of the bird scene this would have been a top piece for this period. Both the cup and saucer are in perfect condition. The cup is 1.75 inches tall with a diameter of 3.125 inches and the saucer is about 1.25 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Both are marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed number plus a gilders mark 29 under the saucer. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
