Early Nice Woodcut Flowers Cup & Saucer

This is an early cup and saucer made by Meissen around 1740. Both are hand painted with flowers in the early and superb woodcut styleand the flowers even match perfectly which is pretty rare. The saucer has a large floral arrangement in the cetner with four bugs around them and a nice brown trim to the edge. The porcelain has a nice white color that only the early pieces have. The cup has them same floral arrangement to the front as well as two bugs, brown trim to the edge and a nicely shaped handle with some puce trim to it. A gorgeous looking set! A small flower on the inside bottom. The set is in superb condition with a few minor spots of wear to the brown trim of the cup and the saucer had two paint flakes to the blue flowers which were colored in to hide them well. One tiny and the other one larger. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. They are both marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark that are straight from around 1740 and an impressed number. The swords on the saucer are quite faint but they are there.
