Pre 1740 Kakiemon Cup & Saucer

This is superb handleless beaker style cup and saucer made by Meissen before 1740. Both are hand painted in the Kakiemon style with flowering chrysanthemum branches growing from some sort of colorful rock formation and a green and red bug flying above. The flowers cover most of the pieces very nicely and there is a superb trim to the isnide rim. White edge which never had any gilding but I think that is what makes it look even better because the inside trim design is all you need. Kakiemon colors of this period are some of my favorites and this is one superb design! Does not come much better than this! The cup and saucer are in perfect condition with a few very minor firing spots normal to these early wares. As good as they come! Each piece is marked underneath with their early crossed swords mark as shown - no impressed numbers yet so definitely pre 1740. Triple red ring trim to the udnerside of the saucer is also a clue to it having been made early on. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
