Canary Family in Nest Figure

This is a nice figurine of a family of canary birds in their nest made by Meissen in the 20th century. It is very well modeled and painted and really quite cute and not one you find often at all. There is the Mama bird, the Papa bird and the naked little baby birds that are almost as ugly as the real deal :) The nest looks like a hand woven basket to the udnerside filled with grasses that hang over the edge. Very nicely done! The figure is in perfect condition. It is marked underneath with the underglazed blue crossed swords mark as well as the usual impressed numbers, etc. one would find on Meissen pieces from this period. The figurine is 3.625 inches tall, 5.625 inches at its widest and 3.125 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
