Blue Onion Bourdaloue

This is a very rare piece made by Meissen in the mid 19thc entury. It is a Bourdaloue (if you don't know what it is google it :) Often mistakes for a gravy or sauce boat which is just nasty and aslo funny! An extremely rare piece and I have not seen a blue onion decorated one so definitely very unusual to find! The bourdaloue is superbly decorated with their famous blue onion / Zwiebelmuster design in under glaze blue with a nice handle also decorated with a bit of blue trim and a blue design to the bottom isnide as well. A must have if you collect blue onion! The piece is in perfect condition. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as well as a blue paitner's 36. and an imrpessed number as shown. A fun and quirky piece and definitely a conversation starter :) The chamber pot is 3.75 inches tall, 10 inches long and and 5 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1999
