Early Bird Scene Cup & Saucer

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Meissen in the mid 18th century around 1750. The saucer is hand painted with a superb bird scene in the center and the cup has two bird scenes - one in the front and one in the back. The scenes include two birds sitting on branches with some greenery around them as well as some really nice bugs / insects scattered all around and a basket weave design to the paste of the rim and a gold trim to the edge. The cup has a nice handle shape typical of this period with a bit of gilding to it and an absolutely amazing butterfly to the bottom inside! A really stunning example and the first cup I have owned from this service so I was thrilled to find it! The cup and saucer are on the smaller side with the cup being 1.5 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter and the saucer 0.875 inches tall and 4.375 inches in diameter. The set is in superb condition with some very minor wear and they display perfectly! Marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as the usual impressed number as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
