Alt Ozier Teapot Lid

This is a lonely lid made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. It is looking for its teapot that is missing it :) The piece is nicely modeled with a relief design called the Alt Ozier around the rim, has three small hand painted flowers to the top and a superb floral finial including the blossom with its stem and two leaves. Typical dark brown trim to the edge. Not a design you see often so if you do have a teapot missing its lid here is a very rare chance to complete it! The piece is in great condition with just some minor nibbles to the flower petals, damage to one of the leaves of the finial, a tiny nibble to the edge and a chip to the underside rim taht is not very obvious from the top. All in all a rare survivor that displays nicely! The lid is about an inch tall without that underside ring and just a tiny bit over 2 inches in diameter. The underside ring that would fit inside the opening has an outer diameter of 1.5 inches so the opening needs to be at least that size or a touch bigger for the lid to fit properly.
