1750 Miniature Turkey Figurine

This is a rare original period miniature male turkey (aka tom or gobbler ) made by Meissen in the mid 18th century. A rare treat that is superbly modeled and hand painted to perfection with lots of detail. It is standing on a little base painted with some grass with his tail fanned out. The figurine is in great condition with no chips, etc. but it has some wear to the paint as one would expect from such a small piece that has been handled for 250 plus years. It is not marked underneath which is not unusual for these early miniatures but the quality leaves no doubt as to the maker.
