Ice Skater Figurine

This is a figurine of an ice skater made by Meissen in about 1760. The putto is naked and just draped with a fur lined cloth that is painted with blue flowers on the outside. Unlike the newer versions of this model the base looks like ice with icicles hanging off the front. He is skating barefoot with just the skates strapped to his feet - a bit chilly for my taste! The figurine is in superb condition with the tips of the skates chipped and one spot of either wear on top of his head or a very very shallow small glaze nick. The rest is perfect! The bottom of the base is flat and filled with only the air hole in it. He is marked on the back of the base with the underglaze blue crossed swords with the dots between the bottom as well as the model number A71 and this is a first pull of this figurine meaning he was first modeled during this period and not earlier. The figure is 5.25 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
