Woodcut Flower & Insect Saucer #1

This is areally nice early saucer made by Meissen in about 1740. It is hand painted with flowers in the early woodcut style before the Deutsche Blumen style took hold. A large yellow carnation to one side as well as three insects with their faint shadows. That is a style often associated with the famous painter Klinger. Gold trim to the edge. The saucer is in great condition with a spot of wear to the smallest insect as its legs are hard to see. The dish displays perfectly especially since the gold trim is fully intact which is unusual for this old a piece! It looks amazing. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark that are straight from around 1740 as well as an impressed number as shown. Firing flaw to the underside only as shown between the mark and the number. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
