Early Floral Leaf Dish

This is a nice small leaf shaped dish made by Meissen in the 18th century around 1765. I think these were meant to be used for sorbet, the semi-liquid ice cream but could be used for a million different things - pickle dish , nut dish, etc. The piece is superbly modeled with the top having a leaf shape to it and the underside / handle forming a branch with smaller leaves and flowers coming off it. The leaves are turquoise and the flowes puce and yellow. The bowl part is hand painted with three small single flowers to the outside and a nice floral arrangement and two smaller single flowers to the inside. A great looking example! And an early one as well. The dish is in great condition with some wear where the leaves that form the feet underneath touch the surface where it would be placed. It is marked with the under glaze blue crossed sowrds mark with the dot between the bottom part as shown. It is 1.375 inches tall (including the handle), 3.125 inches wide and 3.875 inches long. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
