Damaged Miniature Basket

This is a tiny basket made by Meissen in the 18th century around 1750. Nicely modeled with a basket weave relief design all around the outside as well as underside, a floral arrangement hand painted to the front and back, four cute little bugs to the inside, a small single flower to each side and what would ahve been tiny handles to each side ending in floral terminals. The handles are sadly broken off and gone. Not sure what this was meant to be - probably for a doll house. Never seen anything like it. Very neat! Displays nicely the way it is with jsut a touch of wear to the gilding and the missing handles I already mentioned. The piece is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords underneath as shown. A bit messy due to the relief design but definitely made by Meissen and from around this time period. The piece is 0.625 inches tall, 1.625 inches wide and 1.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
