1750 Meissen Knife #1

This is a superb and rare knife made by Meissen in about 1750 (well the handle part at least :). The handle is nicely modeled with some raised detail and then handpainted with a floral arrangement on the front and back along with lots of smaller scattered flowers. The ferrule between the handle and the blade has a nice circular design to it and is likely made of silver though it is unmarked. The blade is of early steel and marked with a star mark as well as another impressed mark I cannot make out. The blade goes into the handle and there is a spot coming out on the other end to fasten it in place which was only done on early knives! The knife is in superb condition! It is 8.125 inches long of which 3.25 are from the porcelain handle. The handle is about 0.75 inches wide. It is not marked where one could see it though it is definitely made by them and by the colors and style one can see it is from about 1750. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
